I´ve always LOVED ceramics.
I have been collecting all types of pieces since I remember, always looking for special places where I can find interesting ceramics.
The first time I worked closely with ceramic was back in 2009 when I was working in Madrid and collaborated with an amazing Italian artist, Clara Graziolino.
I was working at her studio co-sharing the space and together we created a small batch of handmade plates decorated with some of my illustrations.
I was in charge of the ceramic tracing and branding, in that opportunity I did not get the chance to get my hands dirty so it became a goal for me: to create my own pieces.
After my second boy was borned in the middle of the Covid pandemia, I needed to try something new where I could expand my work, learn a new way to communicate.
The studio owner of the studio is Claudia She is also an artist and a teacher and I loved working with her, I learned so much and found a space for myself to heal and explore new techniques.
The first piece I created was this decorative plate, that turned out more flat that what I had in mind, but it was a great start to test for the first time the materials.
I also had time to make a couple of colour palettes for my watercolours and I have been using them ever since, loved these so much, they were very simple to make.
The second piece I made was this vase that I called Caribe. I experimented here with the texture of the clay and different materials.
I also made a couple of ring holders in the shame of orchids, I loved how the colors and glaze turned out here.
